ART WORKS
Essentials, 1998

These three sculptures were made from starched white cotton fabric, folded and buttoned to cover chairs that were hidden inside.

They were made for the exhibition Freeze in London which was organized by the participating artists whilst some were still at Goldsmiths College in 1988. The sculptures were shown together with a series of 3 starched white cotton collars, arranged like flying ducks on the wall and in the same room as Simon Patterson's Elizabeth Taylor/Richard Burton paintings. The other artists in the show were Damien Hirst who lead the project, Angela Bulloch, Sarah Lucas, Ian Davenport, Michael Landy, Lala Meredith -Vulja, Steve Adamson, Fiona Rae, Anya Gallaccio, Gary Hume, Richard Patterson, Stephen Park and Mat Collishaw.
