A Deck of Cards was a collaborative project between Abigail Lane and Peter Blake, produced for The Art Car Boot Fair in London, 2007. 52 images based on a pack of cards were produced. Some were Peters and others were Abigail’s – some of which, taking lead from Peter’s better known imagery, were misleading in their authorship. There were also a few ‘imposters’ authored by David Harrison. All were printed as A4 digital works onto somerset paper.

A corresponding deck of cards was made, the backs of which were printed with the images of Peter and Abigail; these were not necessarily concurrent with the author of its face side. Buyers were asked to pay their money, pick a card face side down, at random and take the corresponding signed A4 print. It was a gamble as to whose work they went home with.
